If you have had any tests performed by the doctor or nurse, it is your responsibility to phone for the results when advised. Please do not assume that if you have not heard anything then the results are normal.
If the results are normal the receptionists may be able to tell you, otherwise you will be asked to speak to the doctor.
Please telephone in the afternoon as test results may not arrive until late morning.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
Also we will not discuss your results at the front desk for confidentiality reasons, you must phone for these.
Please note that you do not need to make an appointment with the GP for your results. When your result comes back it will be assessed by the GP. If they need you to make an appointment they will put an action beside it so that the receptionist can inform you of this when you phone for your result.
